Description

An exceptionally rare Auburn 874 Dual Cowl Phaeton, built in 1979 by Glenn Pray and the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Company. It is reported that only 18 examples of the 874 Dual Cowl Phaeton were produced, making this a highly collectible and historically significant automobile.

This car was previously owned by Felix Degeyter, the former parts manager and general manager of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Company, and is now offered by his spouse. During this period, Glenn Pray owned the Auburn trademark, and vehicles produced under his stewardship are widely recognized as true second-generation Auburns, known for their quality craftsmanship and faithful execution of classic Auburn design.

Finished in vibrant red with a removable tan soft top, the car features tan leather upholstery and presents very well throughout. Power is provided by a Ford 460 V8, paired with a C6 automatic transmission. The odometer shows just over 6,400 original miles, and the paint and body remain in very good condition with only minor age-consistent imperfections.

This is a true dual cowl phaeton, equipped with both front and rear windshields, each fitted with Stewart-Warner instrumentation, adding to the car’s authenticity and period character.
