1931 Lincoln K Series Town Sedan Restomod
This is a 1931 Lincoln K series Town Sedan restomod. I bought the car all original about 15 years ago, blew the engine then had major engine components stolen during the engine rebuild. I wanted to keep it original, but just couldn’t pull it off. My good friend has just completed the conversion of it to a restomod. The body and interior are original and show it (paint is old with defects, some rotting of window shades). Otherwise, it is a modern new car. New Ford crate 351 engine, new Ford AOD automatic transmission, new drive train with Ford limited slip differential, new suspension, new power disc brakes, new cooling system, air conditioning, new tires, etc. (This is an all FoMoCo restoration, not the usual Ford product with a small block Chevy engine). The instrument bezel is the original one with the new gages fitting in size and number by pure coincidence and expert shopping by my restorer (Georgetown Classic Car Restoration). The radiator was custom designed to fit just right for this car. Due to failing health and advanced age I am selling my last few cars. The other two are original (31 Cadillac V-12 Boattail Speedster and 1957 Chevy convertible). This car is a real head turner. I found an unspent 45 caliber round under the front seat–the ammunition for a Thompson Sub-Machine Gun (Tommy Gun). This is a real 30s gangster car. It was once owned by Steve McQueen (no proof provided-that assertation combined with 6-10 dollars might buy you a cup of coffee). I am told that he had two 1931 Lincoln Town Sedans with one destroyed in a fire in Florida. He probably liked the Gangster look, not the “high performance”.
